Connecting Somerset, formerly known as the Somerset
Broadband Programme, is a major initiative aiming to help businesses
and communities in Somerset make the most of broadband and IT.
Funded by the European Social Fund, SW Regional Development Agency
and Somerset’s local authorities and public sector groups,
Connecting Somerset has four major target areas: business growth,
community support, e-government usage and improved skills. Connecting
Somerset is a partnership programme, led by Somerset County Council
with input from public and private sector organisations.
