History Unit at the Shepton Mallet Digital Arts Festival
Workshops in camera shooting, marketing short films and animation skills are among the highlights of the third annual Shepton Mallet Digital Arts Festival. Jim Parkyn, the model-maker behind Shaun the Sheep will undertake a model-making and animation masterclass with characters including Shaun, Gromit and other animated stars from the Bristol studio.
Also getting involved with this year’s Shepton Digi Fest from the Aardman camp is Merlin Crossingham, a Creative Director/Animator.
Merlin has worked at Aardman animations for the last 15 years on films such as Wallace & Gromit, Chicken Run and Curse of the Were Rabbit.
Other highlights of the Festival - described in the Guardian as a 'very exciting event' include The Art of Natural History Film Making with Paul Appleby, Wildlife Film: Working with Music - William Goodchild, a workshop on demand stimulation and super fast broadband and a session on the UK's interactive game industry.
