The main features and requirements of the register are as follows:-

Features

> Service providers have the opportunity to be included on the register which then enables them to be referred to potential clients by Business Link Somerset (BLS).

> The register covers many specialisms within broad service categories such as business management, design, finance, IT, human resources, marketing, legal advice, quality assurance, property services and many more The attached Business Services Categories List indicates which specialisms are currently provided by those on the register. This register is not for training providers.

> Our aim is to introduce Somerset businesses to “local” providers and so we encourage Somerset-based providers to join the register. However, applications from providers in surrounding counties will always be considered especially where there is a lack of choice or a gap exists in the register.

> BLS makes no charge to clients or providers when the register is used to make referrals.
BLS acts as an honest broker when assisting Somerset businesses to identify suitable service providers. This is a “best match” referral service and final selection of the provider is entirely at the discretion of the client. Any contract for services delivered will be between the client and provider.

> We try to provide the client with a choice of three potential providers wherever possible.

> Quality assurance of the register is undertaken by BLS through customer satisfaction follow up.

Requirements

Inclusion on the register occurs following a detailed review of each application and the option of seeking references from up to three clients.
All applicants are required to sign our Code of Conduct indicating their compliance with a minimum standard of conduct.
