Plumbing
firm, Skillbuild, is just one of the many businesses to benefit
from the Connecting Somerset project. The Over Stratton company
needed wireless connection to the internet and its own internal
network. With Connecting Somerset's help, Skillbuild brought in
Crewkerne based IT experts Blueloop, who designed a state-of-the-art
network using a wireless ASDL router.

Using the new system, Skillbuild's plumbers can register Corgi
parts (a statutory requirement) with just one-click, saving both
time and money on every transaction.
Nathan Charles from Blueloop, who designed and commissioned the
solution, said: "Connecting Somerset is an important project
for small businesses within the county. We expect many of our
clients to benefit from Connecting Somerset and bring their business
communications up to date.”
Skillbuild’s Janet Doble said: "We are now able to
receive orders from customers and place purchase orders by email,
saving administration costs and providing an immediate response
to customer enquiries”.
